Cowaramup’s population is booming. With its laid back charm and tight-knit community, it’s no wonder so many young families are choosing to call Cowie home.
But with more traffic on Bussell Highway and more kids crossing the street, we need to make sure our pedestrian infrastructure is keeping up with this growth.
Jane Kelsbie and Jackie Jarvis know local residents are particularly concerned about making sure the Bussell Highway pedestrian crossing is fit for purpose.
The crossing is especially important for kids living in Parkwater who use it every day to get to and from school.
The Cook Government is committed to creating safer regional roads. Since coming to office, we’ve rolled out safety treatments along hundreds of kilometres of South West roads, and brought regional road maintenance jobs back in-house.
Now, Jane and Jackie are calling on the State Government to work with the Shire and the community to plan and deliver much needed pedestrian crossing upgrades in Cowaramup as a matter of priority.
